Ignite was “born” on 9 September 2001 and as we look back over the past nine years there are so many people and projects to remember. Our youth workers have had the privilege of journeying with thousands of Harrow’s young people and nothing gives us more pleasure than seeing familiar faces come back to share their continuing story with us. This anniversary year gives us the opportunity to celebrate all that has happened but as we look to the future we recognise that the current economic climate has brought a new challenge ... how will we maintain the level of activity that we have achieved. We employ a strong team with a good blend of experience and enthusiasm and our aim is to keep this team together. With this end in mind we will celebrate our 10th anniversary with ten fundraising events. By choosing diverse events we hope to raise the profile of Ignite in Harrow and attract a wider spectrum of supporters which we hope will include large companies, small businesses and individuals.
FUNDRAISING CALENDER:
Skydive 1st September.
Jump out the plan for a good cause, get sponsored and raise money for Ignite...Lake District 3000 footers challenge 9-10th September.
Golf Day, a round of golf and lunch. Venue and Date tbc.
Cyclathon at David Lloyd Gym on 9th October.
Take your turn at cycling a distance that collectively travels from here to somewhere in Europe (tbc).And more to be confirmed....

To kick off our fundraising this year Peter Andre helped work with Ignite's young people to stage two one off performances at Harrow Arts Centre on the 22nd May 2011. He also offered his time in exchange for donnations toward the charity. This Twitter initiative found him raising funds through anything to singing at a birthday party to washing a car. Further information on this can be seen on Peter Andre's programme "Here to Help" that was orginally broadcast on ITV2 on the 21st July 2011 at 8pm and can be accessed on ITVplayer. Thanks to Peter and his team who raised £17,000 for Ignite!
